About DotaPicks

DotaPicks is a free Dota 2 draft assistant. It ranks counter picks against the heroes the enemy team has chosen, analyzes full five-versus-five drafts for synergy and matchup advantage, and shows every hero's tier by role and skill bracket. No account or login is needed.

Each advantage figure is a percentage-point difference measured from real matches: how far a hero's win rate against, or together with, another hero sits above or below 50%.

The counter picker ranks every hero against the enemies you enter. The team draft analyzer scores two full lineups for synergy and counters. The Captains Mode draft simulator lets you practise the pick and ban order. Tier lists rank all heroes overall, by role and by skill bracket, and every hero has its own counter page.

Hero-versus-hero and hero-with-hero win rates and hero position data come from the STRATZ API, which collects public Dota 2 match data. Hero names and IDs come from the OpenDota API. DotaPicks is an independent project and is not affiliated with Valve, STRATZ or OpenDota.

All figures are split by skill bracket: Herald to Guardian, Crusader to Archon, Legend to Ancient, Divine to Immortal, and All Ranks.

A matchup seen in only a few games can look dramatic and mean little. Each figure is scaled by how many matches stand behind it, so well-sampled matchups count at close to full value and thin ones are weighted down. Results built mostly on thin data carry a low-sample warning.

The data refreshes automatically as our pipeline collects new match data from STRATZ. The tier list pages show the date their matchup data was last updated.
